- False Claims Bill Headed to Senate Floor
The Senate Judicial Proceedings Committee approved an amended version of SB 272, the Maryland False Health Claims Act of 2009. This bill will drive up health care costs for employers and further limit access to health care in Maryland. We expect a full Senate vote today (Friday, March 20). - Chamber Opposes Health Care Payroll Tax
Two key Maryland General Assembly committees heard legislation this week that would create a universal health care system in Maryland, funded primarily by an annual $2.5 billion employer payroll tax (SB 813/HB 951). - Environmental Standing Compromise May be Near
