Our Business Development Council had its BDC On the Road meeting with MedStar Health on Tuesday. BDC on the Road helps small and minority-owned business leaders learn how to do business with larger companies in order to grow and prosper. Pegeen Townsend, Vice President, Government Affairs and Ed Robinson, Vice President, Performance Improvement & Operational Support discussed the history of MedStar and how to do business with the company.
The key points to do business with MedStar are:
- Have high quality goods and services.
- Build relationships that are easy to administer and bring value on a high market basis.
- Predictability to sustain a competitive advantage.
- Companies that look at MedStar from an enterprise perspective and not just a transaction.

Frank Burch, Global Co-Chairman of DLA Piper and Chairman of the Board of Johns Hopkins Medicine, has been selected as Maryland’s 2012 Governor’s International Leadership Award recipient.
